Our Commitment to Accessibility

We are committed to ensuring that our website is accessible to everyone, including people with disabilities. We want all visitors to be able to browse our pottery, make purchases, and find information about our classes with ease, regardless of the technology or assistive tools they use.

We continually work to improve the accessibility of our site and aim to conform to the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 at Level AA, published by the World Wide Web Consortium (W3C).

Measures We Have Taken

We have taken the following steps to support accessibility across the site:

  • All images of pottery and studio spaces include descriptive alternative text so that users relying on screen readers can understand the content.

  • Our colour schemes have been chosen to provide sufficient contrast between text and background, making content easier to read for people with visual impairments.

  • The website can be navigated using a keyboard alone, without requiring a mouse.

  • Forms — including the checkout process and class booking enquiry forms — are labelled clearly so that screen readers and other assistive technologies can interpret them correctly.

  • Videos on the site, where present, include captions or transcripts.

  • Text can be resized up to 200% without loss of content or functionality.

  • We avoid using content that flashes more than three times per second, in line with guidance for users susceptible to photosensitive seizures.

  • Page layouts are structured with clear headings and logical reading order.


 

Known Limitations

While we strive to meet WCAG 2.1 AA throughout the site, there are some areas we are actively working to improve:

  • Some older product images may not yet have full alternative text descriptions. We are working through our catalogue to address this.

  • Certain PDF documents, such as class schedules or terms and conditions, may not be fully accessible. If you need any of these in an alternative format, please contact us and we will be happy to help.

  • Some third-party payment or booking tools embedded in the site are provided by external suppliers and may not be fully within our control. We are working with those suppliers to improve accessibility where possible.


 

Classes and In-Person Accessibility

We want our pottery classes to be welcoming and accessible to all. If you have a disability, health condition, or any other access requirement that you would like us to know about before attending a class, please get in touch. We will do our best to make reasonable adjustments to ensure you can participate fully and comfortably.

The workshop premises are on the ground floor with step-free access from the car park. Please contact us in advance if you have mobility requirements.
